Marie Rose Uwase

Marie Rose UWASE has experience of more than 16 years in Audit and Finance. She is currently
working as Chief Finance Officer for SONARWA General Insurance Company Ltd.
Before that, she worked as Head of Internal Audit Department in the same company. Prior to
joining SONARWA General Insurance, she worked for United Nations High Commission for
Refugees (UNHCR) as Finance Associate. She also worked for the Office of The Auditor
General for State Finances as a financial auditor in Government Institutions and Projects.
Marie Rose UWASE is an ACCA qualified accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in business
administration (Finance) from University of Rwanda (former National University of Rwanda).
She is familiar to working with different stakeholders like management, Board and regulators.
She has been a Director at the Board of Directors of COGEBANQUE (recently merged with
Equity Bank Rwanda) and she is a member of the Audit Committee of the Ministry of Health.
She possesses technical skills in financial management, accounting and reporting, auditing, and
risk management. She has good inter-personal, communication and motivation skills. She is a
friendly and easy to approach person and experienced in working with diversified teams.
